Winter Skin Care Routine
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I feel like you really have to work to keep your skin feeling it’s best during the winter months. It’s honestly so dry here, which can really take a toll on the skin. Today I’m sharing my current winter skin care routine with you!
In the mornings I keep my routine pretty simple. I like to wash my face with warm water and a DOVE white beauty bar soap. After washing my face I will apply some moisturizer for the day; lately I’ve been using either the Saturday Skin Freeze Frame, or the Olay Luminous ( whichever I’m feeling for the day ).
At night I like to make sure all my makeup is off so I usually start off by putting the Marcelle micellar water onto a cotton pad and trying to remove as much makeup as possible. Next I will wash my face twice with the DOVE beauty bar to make sure my skin is fully cleansed. Instead of moisturizing in the evenings now I have been using almond oil! I love this. The almond oil leaves my skin feeling so smooth, and hasn’t clogged my pours whatsoever. I’ll apply a little bit evenly all over my face and sleep with it overnight.
Once per week while I’m in the shower I like to give my body a full exfoliation. For my face I use coffee grounds and just gently rub in circular motions to remove any dead skin. For my body I use an exfoliating mitt ( I use the one from my tanning set ), and I try to remove all of the dry skin that I can, especially focusing on my legs and ankles.
After showing I always moisturize my entire body, and usually I will just use the Vaseline brand body moisturizer. After my weekly exfoliation I like to apply my self tanner. I use the Loving Tan Mousse in Medium and I love the colour of this. It’s a really nice natural looking tan, and it helps keep me looking alive in the winter months ( and not like my usual vampire self ).
That’s it! I try to keep it simple, and make sure that I get a good exfoliation in there as well as keeping moisturized.
