If It’s Important to You, You’ll Find a Way. If Not You’ll Find an Excuse.
I was recently scrolling through a social network when I stumbled across a really cool job posting. I was casually creeping through the comments and one user’s reply caught my eye. They commented how this would’ve been the perfect dream opportunity for them but they weren’t going to apply because of XYZ. After reading that reply I immediately thought of the saying you’ll either find a way or you’ll find an excuse, which inspired me to write this post.
If you really want something then you have to work for it and make it happen. Decide what is important to you, and focus your energy on that. Perhaps those who make excuses are scared of failure, or scared of change. If you never take any risks, or that chance at your dream opportunity then won’t you be left with nothing but regret at the end of your life? – Left wondering what if?
Maybe it’s just me, but at the end of my life I never want to wonder what if. I’ve always been determined, and I love saying yes to new opportunities even if they seem scary. If a dream opportunity was presented to me and I was able to apply for it and obtain it, then I would do everything in my power make it happen. I would find a way.
This doesn’t only apply for work related opportunities either. It all goes back to setting goals for yourself and living up to them. What is important to you? Does your current lifestyle focus on that? Are your current day-to-day actions slowly working towards achieving your goals? If your answer is no, then don’t continue making excuses for opportunities you’d consider to be a dream. Nothing ventured, then nothing gained, and where there is a will there is always a way my friends.
